External venetian blinds

External venetian blinds are a modern and stylish product fitted to the outside of the building facade. The light and minimalist structure of external venetian blinds presents itself perfectly in modern architectural buildings with large glazings. The main function of this product is to protect the interior of the building from excessive sunlight. However, the blinds significantly improve the external appearance of the building. Installed on large façades, they act as an insulator, influencing the appropriate temperature distribution in the room.

How do external venetian blinds work?

The principle of operation of external venetian blinds can be compared to the classic aluminum interior blinds. They also have slats, however, made of thicker aluminum with increased resistance to external factors. A characteristic feature of this type of product is the free adjustment of the slat angle, which allows the user to select the appropriate degree of shading and thus to manage it individually. With just a slight change in the inclination of the slats, the sunlight can be easily altered.

External venatian blind - steering methods

External venetian blinds can be controlled in two ways: manually and automatically. Which control method should be chosen? Budget is usually the main determinant of the decision. Exterior venetian blinds can be smoothly controlled manually using a crank mechanism or automatically. The latter is obviously more convenient. The control of external blinds has the possibility to integrate operation with a weather automation system. The use of a wind strength or sunlight sensor makes it possible to automatically fold, unfold or tilt the blinds according to the weather. The slats are protected from the wind itself by a side guide in the form of a vertical track or steel cord.

BSO external venetian blinds can also be controlled by a radio control system. This allows the blinds to be adjusted using a remote control or app.

The simplest automatic steering method is the wired control. In this case, the mechanism is moved by an electric motor. It is controlled with a switch located on the wall which is connected to the motor with a wire.

How to clean exterior venetian blinds?

Clean the lamellas with a soft brush that will not scratch the paint cover. Start cleaning by removing sand and dust with a brush to avoid scratching later when washing with a cloth. Thinner and solvent-based preparations are prohibited. However, we can use dishwashing liquid or glass cleaner diluted in water.

Start cleaning external venetian blinds by completely lowering the blinds. First wash the lamellas with a wet cloth, then wipe again with a dry cloth. If you can turn the lamellas 180 degrees, turn the lamellas to the other side and repeat the steps.

Not all lamellas rotate 180 degrees (90 degrees is standard), so in other cases, after lowering the slats, leave the lamellas open and wipe each lamella one by one with a damp cloth. I suggest this method of cleaning to owners of external venetian blinds who have their blinds mounted higher than the ground floor, or access from the outside is difficult or impossible.

External venetian blinds cost

The external venetian blind has a very affordable price, which will certainly convince many users to buy this type of solution.

The price of external venetian blinds depends on a number of factors. The decisive factor here is their size, however, all amenities usually also have an additional charge. A professional quotation will allow the costs to be adjusted to individual needs. Due to their lightweight construction and functionality, external venetian blind is constantly expanding their usability by choosing non-standard sizes.
