Until a few years ago, white uPVC windows dominated the window market - they were the most common choice for houses and flats. And there is nothing surprising about that, as this type of window was the cheapest solution, had the fastest lead time, and was easier to keep clean than, for example, timber windows. Over time, manufacturers began to offer other colours of veneers, imitating different structures, and white windows ceased to be so readily purchased. But does this mean that they ceased to be fashionable? Nothing could be further from the truth.
Are white windows still fashionable?
White windows have one important advantage - they NEVER go out of fashion!
White windows are and will continue to be fashionable, but no longer as the most economical solution, but as an elegant and modern way to finish your home in a fashionable way. Current architectural and decorative trends allow white windows to be used in interesting and designer designs, making white windows an expression of modern style in construction.

Where will white windows work?
White windows are a safe choice in almost any case - regardless of the interior décor, style in which the house or flat is decorated and the colour of the facade. Therefore, they will suit Scandinavian, Dutch, glamour or New Nordic style interiors.
The cool white profiles go well with the blue, grey and green tones of the façade. Warm tones, on the other hand, work well with beige, cream and sand colours.
White windows can come in different shapes - which one should you opt for?
White windows and especially white uPVC windows can come in a variety of shapes:
- rectangular and square - the most common type of window,
- triangular - used most often in buildings with multi-pitched roofs,
- round - they are most often used as glazed or fixed windows. Two solutions are available for opening round windows: rotation of the sash around the vertical or horizontal axis and tilting,
- arched - their upper part is rounded, which gives elegance to the interior. They may be fixed or opening (tilt, tilt-turn).
- trapezoidal - ideal for buildings with pitched roofs, often used in attics. They can be fixed (fix), tilt or turn.

White windows (not only) in small spaces
White windows bring a little more light into an interior than their dark counterparts, reflect the sun's rays and can optically enlarge a small space. White windows are ideal for small flats with limited sunlight.
However, this does not mean that they cannot be used in large glazings. Quite the contrary. Modern construction - energy-saving and passive buildings places great emphasis on bright and spacious interiors, and white windows, as we mentioned earlier, additionally brighten up the room, so they will be a great addition to XXL glazing.

How to arrange white windows?
White windows go very well with light wall colours - white, sand, wood or grey. In addition, uniform, airy curtains will make the room not only coherent with the windows but also more spacious. Light beige or cream accessories such as pots, cushions and blankets will make the interior feel warm and cosy. When arranging interiors with white windows, however, it is important to make sure that none of its elements are too flashy and stand out. Drawing attention to itself will quickly become tiresome and boring.
White or coloured windows? Opt for bi-colour!
Wondering which window colour to go for? White windows will fit better to your interior design, but the look of the facade will be better emphasised by coloured windows? Opt for bi-coloured windows! At Aikon Distribution you can order windows with different colours on the inside and outside. You can decide on any shade from the palette of colours available.
