Office windows – trends, parameters and practical tips

blog | 17.11.2025

Light is not only an aesthetic element of office space. It is fuel for concentration, energy and creativity.
Properly selected windows can significantly affect work comfort – they ensure quiet, stable temperature and lower operating costs.
This guide presents the key criteria for choosing office joinery and the current trends in office windows in 2025 – without exaggeration, but with full technical awareness.

Why choosing windows for your office is a strategic decision

Properly selected window joinery is not a detail, but the foundation of a functional and ergonomic office. It affects the well-being of employees, the energy efficiency of the building and its image

  • Comfort at work – ensured by adequate lighting, noise reduction and maintaining an optimal temperature throughout the year.
  • Lower operating costs – the result of using profiles with high thermal insulation and glass with a low heat transfer coefficient Uw.
  • Safety and compliance with health and safety regulations – safety glass, anti-burglary fittings and the possibility of integration with access control systems.
  • Aesthetics and image of the office – large glazing and slim profiles let in more light and emphasise the modern character of the building.

Which windows to choose for an office? PVC, aluminium or wood?

Aluminium windows – modern design and durability

Aluminium windows are distinguished by slim profiles, high static rigidity and exceptional durability.
This solution is dedicated to modern office buildings, reception areas and conference rooms, where aesthetic qualities and resistance to intensive use are important.
In 2025, aluminium remains synonymous with minimalism, elegance and technological precision.

ALUMINIUM WINDOWS

PVC windows – a rational choice for modernisation

Modern PVC systems offer high thermal and acoustic insulation while maintaining a favourable price-quality ratio.
Multi-chamber profiles, triple glazing and warm spacer bars ensure a low Uw coefficient and reduce energy loss.
This solution is particularly recommended for renovations of existing offices and medium-sized commercial buildings.

Timber windows – elegance and a natural microclimate

Timber is a premium material – natural, durable and with excellent acoustic properties.
Multi-chamber profiles, triple glazing and warm spacer bars ensure a low Uw coefficient and reduce energy loss.
This solution is particularly recommended for renovations of existing offices and medium-sized commercial buildings.

Key technical parameters – the most important indicators

Energooszczędność (Uw, Ug, Uf)

  • Uw (window) – the lower the coefficient, the better the thermal insulation of the entire structure.
  • Ug (glass) and Uf (profile) – determine the properties of individual components.
  • The use of a triple-glazed unit with a warm edge reduces energy loss and eliminates the problem of water vapour condensation.

ENERGY-EFFICIENT WINDOWS

Lighting and visual comfort (Lt and g)

  • Lt (Light Transmission) – ght transmission coefficient; a higher value means a brighter interior.
  • g (Solar Factor) – total solar energy transmittance. Glass with a selective coating allows light to enter while reducing overheating of rooms.

Acoustics (Rw)

Sound insulation is particularly important in open-plan offices.

It is worth choosing glazing units with acoustic laminate (e.g. VSG) and panes of different thicknesses, which increases noise reduction.

Well-chosen windows can reduce external noise by up to 40–45 dB, significantly improving working comfort.

Safety and fittings

We recommend VSG or ESG safety glass, anti-burglary fittings and handles with a lock or key.
In ground floor and public areas, these elements are a mandatory safety standard.

Ventilation and air quality

Air conditioning systems do not provide air exchange, which is why controlled window ventilation is crucial:

  • hygro-controlled or pressure-controlled diffusers,
  • micro-ventilation function
  • integration with heat recovery or BMS systems. • This maintains the appropriate level of humidity and CO₂ concentration.

Trends in window joinery for offices

1. Large glazing and narrow profiles – maximum light and minimalist aesthetics.

2. Premium colours – anthracite, black, veneers with a deep wood structure.

3. Smart office – integration of windows with building automation, weather sensors and ventilation systems.

 4. Sustainable production – use of recycled materials in profiles, EPD certificates and low carbon footprint.

5. External covers – xternal venetian blinds and ZIP screen systems as standard in office buildings with large glazing.

Choosing windows for an office is a strategic decision – it affects the comfort, energy efficiency and aesthetics of the workspace.
The right joinery is not an expense, but an investment in the durability of the building and the well-being of employees.
In 2025, it is worth focusing on solutions that combine technology, design and environmental awareness – because this is the kind of joinery that really ‘makes a difference’.
